Driving Change through Three Impact Sectors
These efforts are concentrated in three sub-sectors:
- Agri-food, where they promote local resilience and employment through sustainable agriculture;
- Repair, reuse, and recycling, where WISEs are pioneers of circular economy practices;
- Community/home care for the elderly, a sector vital for both care quality and the integration of vulnerable workers.
This structured focus allows WISESHIFT to deliver grounded, transferable insights for scaling up WISEs’ impact across Europe.
Main Hyphotesis of the Project
The main hypothesis of the WISESHIFT Project is that organizations can successfully transition into more sustainable, adaptive, and human-centered models by leveraging emerging technologies, conscious leadership, and innovative organisational structures. WISESHIFT proposes that as the pace of technological, environmental, and societal change accelerates, traditional organizational models must evolve toward systems that prioritize agility, collaboration, and purpose-driven innovation.
This transformation is analyzed through the lens of the Multi-Level Perspective (MLP) on socio-technical transitions, which distinguishes between niche innovations, socio-technical regimes, and the broader landscape pressures that drive systemic change. According to WISESHIFT, real organisational evolution happens when innovative practices (niches) gain momentum against existing structures (regimes), influenced by large-scale societal shifts (landscape). Understanding these dynamics is crucial for organisations aiming to navigate complexity and build future-ready ecosystems.
